DESCRIPTION:What –and why — all Black parents need to know about helping their children with reading\n\n\n\nUsing proper methods to teach children how to read has been called “the civil rights issue of our time.” Too many schools are teaching reading incorrectly and Black and Hispanic children are being hurt by this at a much higher level than white or Asian children. In addition\, Black and Hispanic children’s reading achievement has been impacted much more by the pandemic. According to The Dallas Morning News\, reading scores fell almost twice as much for Black and Hispanic students as they did for white and Asian students on the most recent MAP tests.\n\n\nNow\, Black parents can do something about that.
